Component Funds

Over 200 Component Funds of the Fremont Area Community Foundation assist donors in supporting causes that are close to their hearts. Each was established to accomplish a specific charitable goal, such as provide scholarships for students, support the work of nonprofit agencies, further community initiatives and more.

These funds support the overall work of the Fremont Area Community Foundation

  • Fremont Forever Fund

    Its name tells the story, gifts made to the Fremont Forever Fund transcend generations to support the improvement of the quality of life in our community, today and in the future. Giving a gift to the Fremont Forever Fund is a commitment of your generosity and support of the community. The Fremont Area Community Foundation's stewardship ensures that grants made from this fund respond to the changing needs in the community and make certain that this place we call "home" remains a great place to live. Forever.

  • FACF Administrative Expense Fund

    This fund holds contributions that support the operating expenses of the Foundation.

These funds support specific areas of interest.

  • Community Development

    The primary purpose of this fund is to provide support to community development initiatives which maintain a charitable purpose and may include: providing relief to the poor and distressed of the underprivileged; advancement of education or science; erection or maintenance of public buildings, monuments, or works; lessening the burdens of Government; and promotion of social welfare by organizations designed to accomplish any of the above purposes, or to lessen neighborhood tensions, eliminate prejudice or discrimination, or to combat community deterioration.

  • FACF Field of Interest Funds

    Thanks to the generosity of individuals and businesses in the community, five Field of Interest Endowment Funds were established in 2010. These Field of Interest Funds respond to the charitable interest areas of education, arts and culture, civic improvement, health and recreation, and social services. These also provide a way for donors to contribute to a specific area that meets their personal charitable interests. Each of these Field of Interest Funds represents a vital sector of our community that impacts the quality of life for everyone.

These funds were established to support students through scholarships.

  • George and Theresa Adams Scholarship Fund

    This scholarship fund was established to provide financial assistance to area youth who have spent time in the foster care system who wish to pursue higher education and the many opportunities it affords for a successful, productive life.

  • Al & Patti Bahe Memorial Scholarship Fund

    This scholarship fund was established in memory of Al and Patti Bahe for their contributions to the Fremont area, and provides a scholarship to a current year graduating senior from Fremont High School, based on participation in sports.

  • Mike Baker Memorial Scholarship Fund

    This scholarship was established in memory of Mike Baker, who passed away in 2010 in a car accident in Washington County. This scholarship is available to graduating seniors or continuing education students who have attended high school in Dodge County or at DC West, and are pursuing a degree in agriculture, natural resources, or other related field.

  • Jason Bechtel Memorial Welding Academy Scholarship Fund

    This fund will celebrate the life of Jason Bechtel, who graduated in 2017 from Fremont Senior High School with Industrial Tech honors, and to provide scholarship support to eligible students interested in attending the Fremont High School/Metropolitan Community College Welding Academy.

  • Cedar Bluffs Alumni Association Scholarship Fund

    This fund was established to provide scholarships for higher education for graduating seniors attending Cedar Bluffs High School.

  • Jamie Charleston Scholarship Fund

    A memorial scholarship which is awarded to one male and one female Fremont High School or Archbishop Bergan High School senior based on participation in tennis.

  • Grace Cunningham, First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) Scholarship

    This scholarship provides support to graduating seniors of a Fremont high school who have been active members of their church.

  • Dr. Darleen Ritter and Skip Anderson Class of 1962 Scholarship Fund

    This endowed scholarship fund was founded by alumni of Fremont High School Class of 1962 to provide scholarships to graduating Fremont High school seniors. About 25 years ago, an original fund was started at Fremont High School by Jim Ebers. He believed in creating the scholarship as a way to honor class sponsors, Skip Anderson and Darlene Ritter, and supporting the next generation of leaders. Now the class, inspired by Jim, their class sponsors and in honor of those classmates that have gone before, have come together to increase the funds to provide scholarships to future FHS graduates.

  • Francis George Conrad Scholarship Fund

    A memorial scholarship established by the Conrad family for students in Dodge, Saunders or Douglas Counties that plan to study agriculture.

  • Daniel Family Memorial Scholarship Fund

    This scholarship fund was established to provide scholarship support to students pursuing a career in the arts, a course of study leading to a degree or certificate, or to achieve a skill level at an arts school.

  • Dodge County Humane Society Scholarship Fund

    This scholarship fund was established for students who are attending veterinary school or majoring in Animal Science.

  • James Ebers Scholarship Fund

    This scholarship was established by the Ebers family, with part of the scholarship funds raised through the Fremont Rotary Club. Applicants can attend any four-year college, however, the scholarship may be also used at Metropolitan Community College.

  • Elvera Eckdahl Scholarship Fund

    This scholarship was established through a bequest by Elvera Eckdahl. It is awarded to a current year graduating senior from Fremont High School or Archbishop Bergan High School who plans to major in Elementary Education.

  • Kenny Erickson Memorial Scholarship Fund

    This scholarship was established by the family of Kenny Erickson. This fund honors Kenny's life by providing scholarships to graduating seniors from Arlington High School.

  • RVR Bank Hometown Support Scholarship

    The purpose of this fund is to help those outstanding and talented students who plan to attend a post-secondary, vocational, trade or technical school, and, eventually, to enhance the supply of skilled individuals to the Fremont area workforce.

  • Larry and Mary Flamme Family Scholarship Fund

    A scholarship established by the Flamme family to support students going into the medical field.

  • Ruth Frederiksen Scholarship Fund

    This fund was established by the Will of Ruth I. Frederiksen and is awarded to area students for study of dietetics or nutrition.

  • Fremont Area Art Association Hazel Keene Memorial Scholarship

    Established by the Fremont Area Art Association and awarded to area students who plan to enroll in art school or as art majors.

  • Fremont Area Association of Retired School Personnel Fund

    This fund provides assistance to Fremont area high school seniors who wish to pursue higher education and a career in education.

  • Fremont Business & Professional Womens Scholarship Fund

    A fund established to provide for scholarships for female high school graduates and female students continuing their education.

  • Fremont Credit Professionals Scholarship Fund

    This scholarship fund provides financial assistance to area high school seniors who wish to pursue higher education and a career in business.

  • Fremont High School Alumni Student Aid Fund

    A fund established by alumni of Fremont High School to provide college scholarships for students in need of financial assistance who are graduating or have graduated from Fremont High School.

  • Fremont Kiwanis Club Scholarship Fund

    This fund was established by the Fremont Kiwanis Club for students attending a technical/vocational college or Midland University.

  • Fremont Noon Kiwanis Harold Anderson Scholarship Fund

    This fund was established in honor of Harold Anderson and is awarded to Fremont students who plan to attend trade or vocational schools.

  • Fremont Rotary Youth ScholarshipThis fund was created to award scholarships to graduating seniors of Fremont High School and Archbishop Bergan High School who exemplify the Rotary ideal of "Service above Self."

  • Fremont PTA/PTSA Scholarship Fund

    This scholarship fund is sponsored by the Fremont Citywide Parent Teachers Association for graduates of Fremont High School planning to major in Education.

  • Kristine Gale Leadership Scholarship Fund

    This scholarship fund was established by the Foundation's Board of Directors to honor Kristine Gale, a past executive director of the Fremont Area Community Foundation. It is awarded to a student who has demonstrated leadership and entrepreneurial skills in a community organization, youth organization, place of employment or who has created a new program or project in the community.

  • Bruce Gocken Business Scholarship Fund

    A scholarship fund established in memory of Bruce Gocken for students planning to major in business or who have plans to operate a business.

  • Trey Hansen Memorial Scholarship Fund

    This scholarship was established in memory of Trey Hansen and provides a scholarship to a Fremont Senior High School current year graduating senior who plans to attend any non-profit college or university, or a community college.

  • Matthew Hartmann Memorial Scholarship Fund

    This memorial scholarship fund was established in memory of Matthew Hartmann. It is awarded to a graduating senior of Fremont High School.

  • Sam Heineman Business Student of the Year Scholarship Fund

    This scholarship will provide a $500 scholarship annually to the Fremont High School's Business Student of the Year.

  • Haines Hill Memorial Scholarship Fund

    A memorial scholarship established by Taylor and Martin, Inc., and many friends of Haines Hill, former owner of Taylor and Martin. It is awarded to a Fremont student who will major in a business related field of study.

  • Keith Hindmarsh Scholarship Fund

    This fund was established by the family of Keith Hindmarsh and is awarded to Arlington High School graduates planning to pursue an agricultural related degree.

  • Mildred Hindmarsh Memorial Scholarship Fund

    This scholarship is available to a current year graduating student of a high school in Arlington, Fremont or North Bend who is planning to major in Elementary Education. Preference may be given to students who have participated in the Future Teachers Club or who have volunteered with the elderly.

  • Don and Jan Hinds Educational Scholarship Fund

    This scholarship was established by Don and Jan Hinds for students who are planning to major in Education at a four-year college or university.

  • Hiram Lodge #52 Masonic Scholarship Fund

    The Hiram Lodge #52 Masonic Scholarship was established to carry on the Hiram Lodge #52 tradition of providing financial assistance to graduating seniors of Arlington High School who plan to pursue higher education at any two- or four- year college/university, technical or trade school.

  • Jim A. Hoshor Scholarship Fund

    This scholarship was established to provide scholarship support to graduating seniors of Fremont Senior High School or Archbishop Bergan High School who plan to attend Doane College and participate in either its baseball program, football program, or both.

  • Allyssa, Sheldon, Mariah Johnson Memorial Scholarship Fund

    This scholarship fund was established by the memorial gifts of many donors and is awarded to a Fremont High School graduate each year who plans to major in a degree working with children.

  • Emmett & Mae Johnson Scholarship Fund

    This fund was established by Lester A. and Maxine Walker in honor of Mrs. Walker’s parents. The scholarship is awarded to a Tekamah-Herman High School senior.

  • Alexander N. Lamme Academic-Athletic Scholarship Fund

    This fund was established in memory of Alexander N. Lamme, who passed away unexpectedly in 2013. This scholarship is available to graduating seniors of Fremont High School who have been active members of the Fremont High Track and Field Team or Fremont High School Basketball Team.

  • Rodney & Amy Mueller Johnson Memorial Scholarship Fund

    A memorial scholarship fund established by the gifts of many donors. One scholarship is awarded to a Fremont High School graduate and one to a Logan View High School graduate.

  • H.M. "Micky" Krupinksky Scholarship Fund

    This scholarship was sponsored by the Fremont Golf Club as a memorial to H. M. “Micky” Krupinsky and is awarded to students interested in golf.

  • Janet Ludwig Scholarship Fund

    This scholarship fund provides support for current year graduating seniors from Arlington High School.

  • LaVern F. Lueschen Scholarship Fund

    A memorial scholarship awarded to a Fremont student majoring in science, pre-medical or pre-dental studies.

  • Jerome S. Main Agriculture Scholarship

    This scholarship was established to celebrate the memory of Jerome S. Main and provide financial assistance to Fremont area high school graduates who plan to pursue a career in agriculture.

  • Rebecca McClain Memorial Scholarship Fund

    This scholarship fund was established in memory of Rebecca McClain and is for Elementary Education majors who are current year graduating seniors from Coon Rapids Schools.

  • Jake Monke Achievement Scholarship Fund

    This scholarship fund was established to celebrate the life of Jake Monke and help others achieve their goals and dreams. The scholarship provides financial assistance to graduating seniors who wish to pursue higher education and the many opportunities it affords for a successful, productive life. Students with verified learning disabilities are encouraged to apply.

  • Pat Murphy Track and Field Scholarship Fund

    This scholarship, established in honor of Pat Murphy, provides a scholarship for Fremont Senior High Track and Field Team members.

  • E.V. "Vic" and Lois Nielsen Fremont Noon Optimists Scholarship Fund

    This scholarship fund was established by the Nielsen family and the Fremont Noon Optimist Club as a memorial to E.V. "Vic" and Lois Nielsen, a long time supporters of the Fremont area. The scholarship is awarded to a graduating senior from Fremont High or Archbishop Bergan High School.

  • Loren Nothwehr Scholarship Fund

    This scholarship was established to honor Loren Nothwehr for his years of volunteer service to Fremont organizations. It is awarded to a Fremont area student who will major in sociology or human services.

  • James L. Paulin Fremont Kiwanis Club Scholarship Fund

    This scholarship was established by Jim Paulin, a long time member of the Fremont Kiwanis Club. It is awarded to students that are involved in Key Club or Circle K at their school, and is available to current and past students of Fremont High School or Archbishop Bergan who are planning to attend or are undergraduates at Midland University.

  • Valerie Post Memorial Scholarship Fund

    This scholarship was established to memorialize the life of Valerie Post Sullivan and celebrate her lifelong passion for the performing arts. It will assist graduating seniors from Fremont Senior High School who are pursuing postsecondary education and who have been active in the performing or fine arts.

  • Rhea Family Scholarship

    This scholarship was established for students from the Dodge County area that have participated in extra-curricular activities. Preference may be given to students who are planning to pursue a career in healthcare or agriculture.

  • Sherlock Nursing Scholarship Fund

    This scholarship was established in honor of the late Barbara L. Sherlock for students planning to pursue a career in nursing.

  • Anne Crofton Sidner Memorial Scholarship Fund

    This scholarship provides scholarships for current year graduating seniors from Fremont Senior High School who intend to pursue an education including some courses in liberal arts.

  • Team Mates Mentoring Program Scholarship Fund

    A fund established to provide scholarships to students who have participated in the Team Mates Program at Fremont schools.

  • Robert L. Tookey Scholarship Fund

    A fund established by the estate of Robert Tookey to provide scholarships for students majoring in music with a focus in piano and/or organ.

  • Tyler Walling Memorial Scholarship

    This scholarship, established in memory of Tyler Walling, provides a scholarship to a current year graduating senior from Fremont High School or Arlington High School who has been involved in extra curricular activities within school and/or the community.

  • Jean M. Welstead Memorial Scholarship Fund

    This fund will provide financial aid to students planning to pursue a career in an art-related field.

  • Marvin G. Welstead Scholarship Fund

    This scholarship was established by the Board of Directors to honor Marvin G. Welstead for his years of service as President of the Foundation. It is awarded to a Fremont or Bergan High School student who will major in business.

  • Mary Ellen Wieland Scholarship Fund

    This fund was established by the Will of Mary Ellen Wieland for graduates of Howard School who will major in Elementary Education.

  • Dave Williams Golf Scholarship Fund

    This scholarship provides support to graduating seniors or continuing education students who have graduated from a high school in Fremont, Arlington or Cedar Bluffs, Nebraska, who will attend a two- or four-year college, technical or trade school and have demonstrated an interest and ability in golf.

  • Marty Williamson Memorial Scholarship Fund

    The primary purpose of the fund is to provide financial assistance to area youth who plan to pursue a career in the construction trades, and to celebrate the life of Marty Williamson, founder of Fremont Builders Supply.

  • Jim and Carolyn Windeshausen Family Scholarship in Memory of Marci Fund

    This scholarship fund will someday provide scholarship support to graduating seniors of Fremont High School, or continuing education students who are Fremont High graduates planning to pursue a degree in Education. Preference will be shown for applicants whose career choice involves work with individuals who have special needs and/or who have an endorsement to work in public schools and serve special needs students in areas such as speech pathology, school psychology, etc.

  • Robert Yanike Music Scholarship Fund

    This fund was established by the friends of Robert Yanike to support the advanced study of music to Fremont High School graduates.

These funds were established to support area communities, agencies and special projects.

  • Archbishop Bergan Catholic School Tuition Assistance Fund

    This fund was established to provide tuition assistance to qualifying youth to attend Archbishop Bergan Catholic School who otherwise might not be able to afford the tuition expense.

  • Arlington Community Fund

    An affiliate fund established by the citizens of Arlington to support community improvements for Arlington, Nebraska.

  • Arlington Community Church Fund

    This fund provides support to the Arlington Community Church to carry out its role and mission.

  • Arlington Education Foundation Fund

    This fund was established to foster, maintain and improve programs related to Arlington Public Schools.

  • Arlington Public Library Endowment Fund

    This fund provides support for improvements, additions and enhancements to the Arlington Public Library.

  • Building Families Boutique Fund

    A permanent endowment fund established by Lutheran Family Services of Nebraska, Inc. to benefit the Building Families Boutique facility and programs.

  • Care Corps Permanent Endowment Fund

    An endowment fund established by Care Corps to benefit the Care Corps facility and programs.

  • Carnegie Hall Crusade

    To provide assistance for the Fremont High School Varsity Choir to perform at Carnegie Hall.

  • Dodge County Humane Society Fund

    This fund was established to support the Dodge County Humane Society’s facility and programs.

  • Kay Eveland Memorial Endowment Fund

    This fund was established in memory of Kay Eveland to benefit teachers at North Bend Central Schools.

  • Fellowship of Christian Athletes Fund

    To support summer programs and other activities of the Fremont area Fellowship of Christian Athletes.

  • FHS Encore Campaign

    Community project involving the design and construction of improvements to the FHS Nell McPherson Theatre consisting of a new sound system, rigging and lighting system, curtains, renovated bathrooms and improvements to the lobby and entrance area facades and fixtures.

  • Fremont & Bergan Post Prom

    This fund supports the Post Prom event hosted for Fremont High School and Bergan High School students each spring, a project designed to provide a safe and entertaining evening for FHS and BHS students following the annual prom.

  • Fremont Area Alzheimer's Fund

    A fund established to support Alzheimer’s research, and to provide education to caregivers and providers.

  • Fremont Area Art Association Endowment Fund

    This fund supports the Fremont Area Art Association’s facility and programs.

  • Fremont Area Covid-19 Response Fund

    This fund shall be considered an expendable field of interest fund with the purpose of providing provide flexible resources to nonprofit organizations in the Fremont area working with communities who are disproportionately impacted by coronavirus and the economic consequences of this outbreak.

  • Fremont Area Habitat for Humanity Endowment Fund

    A fund established by the Hazel R. Keene Trust to provide operating support to the Fremont Area Habitat for Humanity.

  • Fremont Area Parks Endowment Fund

    This fund was established by the Friends of the Fremont Area Parks.

  • Fremont Area Performing Arts Fund

    The purpose of this fund is to make quality entertainment available and accessible to Fremont area families of all income levels.

  • Fremont Community Thanksgiving Day Dinner Fund

    A fund created to support the annual Fremont Community Thanksgiving Dinner.

  • Fremont Jaycees Fund

    The purpose of this fund is to provide support for mental, moral, and physical improvements for youth in the Fremont Area.

  • Fremont Middle School Technology Fund

    This fund was established by friends of the Fremont Middle School to support technology projects.

  • Fremont Opera House Endowment Fund

    This endowment fund was established by the Fremont Opera House to support the charitable purposes of the organization.

  • Fremont Public Schools Alumni Funds

    These fund were founded by Fremont Public School Alumni to support alumni relations, scholarships, and special projects relating to the schools.

  • Fremont Public Schools Foundation Endowment

    This fund was established to support educational projects through Fremont Public Schools Foundation that benefits Fremont Public Schools.

  • Fremont Rotary Club Endowment Fund

    A fund established by the Fremont Rotary Club to support charitable projects.

  • Fremont Rural Fire Department Class-A Uniform Project

    This project will help the Fremont Rural Fire Department secure formal dress uniform attire for all eligible firefighters, providing opportunity to properly honor the service of their fallen comrades.

  • Fremont Women's Connection Pass-Through Fund

    A fund established to encourage, educate and empower women in the Fremont area.

  • Friends of the Library, A Trust Endowment Fund

    An endowment fund established to provide for the support, improvement, upkeep, and general purposes of the Keene Memorial Library in Fremont, Nebraska.

  • Friends of Keene Memorial Library Endowment Fund

    A fund established by the Friends of the Library Board for the benefit of the Keene Memorial Library.

  • Friends of the Agnes Robinson Waterloo Public Library Pass-Through Fund

    A fund established by the Robinson family to benefit the Agnes Robinson Waterloo Public Library.

  • Hooper Area Community Foundation Fund

    An affiliate fund established by the citizens of Hooper to support community projects in the Hooper, Nebraska area.

  • Ideal Nebraska FundThis fund was established to support efforts to engage Fremont area neighborhoods block-by-block to help develop and maintain affordable housing and promote home ownership education and learning.

  • Jefferson House Maintenance Fund

    An endowment fund established for the maintenance and repair of the Jefferson House facility.

  • Joey's Friends

    This fund will provide adaptive trikes to kids with physical disabilities.

  • Keene Memorial Library Fund

    This fund will provide support for the programs, activities, improvements, additions, and enhancements of Keene Memorial Library.

  • Low Income Ministry Endowment Fund

    A permanent endowment established by the Will of Mamie Grohn to support the Low Income Ministry of Dodge County.

  • Mead Library Friends Foundation Fund

    A fund established to support the Mead Public Library.

  • Medical Assistance Fund for Aquatic Therapy Fund

    A fund established by Phyllis and the late Robert Monke to provide assistance to those in need of aquatic therapy.

  • Earl J. and Frances Mickelsen Endowment Fund for the Benefit of the Fremont Area Art Association

    A fund established by the Mickelsen family to benefit the Fremont Area Art Association.

  • North Bend Area Community Foundation Fund

    This endowment fund was established by the citizens of North Bend, Nebraska, to benefit the North Bend area.

  • North Bend Arboretum Fund

    A fund established to support renovations to the trail system in the North Bend Arboretum.

  • North Bend Central Public Schools Fund

    An endowment fund which provides scholarships for students at North Bend Central High School, and small grants for special projects at the school. Includes several sub-funds established by the gifts of individual donors.

  • North Bend Community Development Field of Interest Fund

  • North Bend Library Fund

    This fund was established to provide support for additions, improvements and enhancements to the North Bend Public Library.

  • North Bend Masonic Lodge Fund

    The purpose of this fund is to serve the charitable activities of North Bend Lodge #119 AF & AM including such interests as the Masonic Eastern Star Home for Children, the Masonic CHild Identification Program (CHIP), Boy Scouts, scholarships and others. The fund may also be used to provide emergency hardship assistance to both lodge members and non-members in compliance with the Victims of Terrorism Tax Relief Act of 2001.

  • North Bend Pool Fund

    A fund that supports the maintenance of the public swimming pool in North Bend.

  • North Bend AmVets Post 20 Fund

    A fund established with the North Bend Area Community Foundation to hold contributions for the North Bend Veterans’ Memorial Park.

  • Nye Health Services Employee Crisis Fund

    This fund provides emergency hardship funds to current and future employees of Nye Health Services, its affiliate companies or any successor company, who have been victims of crime or personal loss such as a fire, medical emergency or sudden death in the family and are suffering an emergency hardship.

  • James L. Paulin Fremont Kiwanis Club Fund

    This fund was established by James Paulin to support charitable activities of the Fremont Kiwanis Club such as charitable programs or to assist officers and members of the Kiwanis Youth Clubs in attending State and National conventions.

  • Schilke Novak Kids' Sports Trust Fund

    A supporting organization of the Foundation, established to support youth sporting activities in the Fremont area.

  • Jean Schneck Honorary Community Service Fund

    This fund was established to support general philanthropic causes and celebrate Jean's charitable spirit and dedication to quiet service.

  • Scribner Community Endowment Fund

    A permanent endowment established by the citizens of Scribner to support community improvements in the Scribner, Nebraska area.

  • Splash Station Playground Kiwanis Fund

    The playground will impact thousands and children with disabilities will be welcomed to a greater degree.

  • St. Anne's Cemetery Family Memorial Endowment Fund

    A fund established for maintenance at St. Anne's Cemetery in Dixon County.

  • TeamMates of Fremont Endowment Fund

    A fund established to support charitable purposes of the Team Mates Mentoring Program.

  • The Bridge Permanent Endowment Fund

    A permanent endowment fund established to benefit The Bridge (formerly the Crisis Center for Domestic Abuse/Sexual Assault).

  • Three Rivers Public Health Department Fund

    This fund was established to support programs and projects that help promote and protect the well-being of our community.

  • Joe Twidwell Fund

    This fund was established by the Foundation’s Board of Directors to honor long-time board member Joe Twidwell, and to carry on his legacy of involvement and service to Fremont area social service organizations.

  • Uehling Area Foundation Fund

    An affiliate established by the citizens of Uehling to support projects in the community.

  • Lora V. Vlasak Fund

    A fund established by the Will of Lora Vlasak to support senior citizen activities in the North Bend area.

  • Wishing Wheels Fund

    Wishing Wheels is an annual holiday bicycle giveaway for underprivileged children that is sponsored by the Fremont Cycling Group. Fremont area children ages 4 to 16 are eligible for the drawing, and winners are selected by random drawing.
